SGFC Homeschoolers is a weekly opportunity for fellowship and encouragement for the members and friends of Sovereign Grace Family Church.
WHAT HAPPENS? At SGFC, we have homeschoolers of all ages and this weekly time gives them a chance to connect and engage with other families in a variety of activities. The younger students will have structured play time and the older students are welcome to hang out and play games. This is not meant to be an educational co-op, but a time for social interaction and engagement. In addition, each week our pastor will offer a short time of devotion and discussion for the older students who desire to participate.
WHO CAN COME? This group is primarily for the families of SGFC, but we welcome visitors as well. We simply ask that no students be left without a parent. Also, all parents and students will be asked to abide by the moral and behavioral standards set forth in the SGFC Statement of Faith. All groups in the church fall ultimately under the authority of the Church Elders. The coordinator for this group is Jennifer Foskey, who will keep the Elders informed of all group plans and activities.
WHEN DO WE MEET? This group meets on Fridays at 10am. Lunch is at 12pm. Following lunch, the church will be open until 2pm for families who desire to stay and fellowship.
WHAT DO WE BRING? Each family will be responsible to provide their own lunches and snacks, unless other plans are made for a particular week (i.e. group potluck, etc). We have a kitchen available which includes a refrigerator and microwave. Families are encouraged to bring games to share. The backyard will be available as weather permits, so sports balls and other equipment is welcome as well.
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE: September 18 (Kick Off Day!) Regular meetings will be on Sept 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23, November 6, 13, 20. Then we are on Thanksgiving and Christmas Break until January 2021. A schedule will be published for 2021 during the break.
